Learn More About Infection Control
If you have COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 (respiratory distress, fever and shortness of breath), or recently traveled to an area where COVID-19 is known to be prevalent, should you come in for an evaluation, surgery or a post op visit?
No, please call our office at 804-379-7120 to reschedule. Your health is important to us but treatment can wait until you are feeling better and symptom-free for 14 days without the use of medications for fever, cough, etc.
Call our office at 804-379-7120 if you are experiencing severe pain and swelling that is tooth related. Someone from our office will call you back to advise. Your primary care doctor or hospital emergency department is better equipped to provide you with care specific to COVID-19.
Infection Control
Infection controls and universal precautions protects our patients and staff alike. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control — you, Dr Padgett, and the ROCS team. The cornerstone in a good and safe dental practice is the element of trust. You should feel free to discuss this topic with Dr Padgett or any of our assistants and receive a straightforward answer.
Richmond Cosmetic and Oral Surgeon's entire team follows procedures recommended by several federal agencies: the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as the local Virginia Board of Dentistry.
These measures include:
• Disinfectant hand soap/sanitizer
• Gloves and face masks
• Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
• Sterilization of all equipment before every use
• Disposable materials
Richmond Oral and Cosmetic Surgeons sterilizes all reusable equipment, including the impaction drills. All locations use an autoclave, a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure.
