James C. Wallace, D.D.S.
Dr. James Wallace is a distinguished Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dental Implantologist and Dental Anesthesiologist. Dr. Wallace graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida and Magnum Cum Laude from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Wallace completed four years of specialty surgical and anesthesia training in the Department of Surgery, Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals. Dr. Wallace is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is a Fellow in both the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Wallace has served as President of the Virginia Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and also served as a delegate to the national association of oral & maxillofacial surgeons. Dr. Wallace has taught in the School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University and has served as the Chief of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at CJW Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Wallace is an active member in some of the most prestigious organizations in dentistry. These include the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Academy of Osseointegration, and the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Wallace is also active in many local and regional societies including the Virginia Dental Association, the Virginia Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Virginia Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the Southeastern Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Wallace practices the full scope of oral & maxillofacial surgery, but his primary interests are dental implants and jaw reconstructive procedures. Dr. Wallace was among the first surgeons in Virginia to perform dental implant surgery, and over the last 30 years he has placed more than 5,000 implants and completed over 2,000 jaw reconstructions. His positive patient outcomes and overall success rates set the bar for patients in Central Virginia.
